Mogadishu, 22 September 2026 The Senate of Somalia's Federal Parliament on Monday approved the Revenue Authority Bill after its third reading, according to the Upper House.
The bill was approved by all 27 senators who participated in the vote, with no votes against and no abstentions.
Before the vote, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Senator Abdi Ahmed Dhuhulow Dhagdheer presented the committee's third-reading report and asked lawmakers to approve the bill.
State Minister for Finance Raho Mohamud Janaqow welcomed the approval, saying the authority would play an important role in managing, collecting and increasing Somalia's domestic revenue.

The session, chaired by Senate Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, also approved two members to fill vacant positions on the Independent Constitutional Review and Implementation Commission.
State Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs Ilyas Sheikh Omar presented a report on the two nominees and asked senators to approve their appointments.
The two members also received the support of all 27 senators who participated in the vote, with no votes against or abstentions.
