MOGADISHU, 27 Oct Somalia’s 2026 Economic Report was launched in Mogadishu on Tuesday, focusing on financing sustainable economic growth and strengthening domestic revenue.
According to the report, Somalia’s economy grew by 3.1% in 2025, compared with 4% in 2024.
The federal government’s domestic revenue reached approximately $404.3 million in 2025, up from $183 million in 2018.
The launch forms part of the fourth annual CV2060 Roundtable, taking place on 27–28 October at the Jazeera Palace Hotel.
The report highlights the need to increase production, investment and job creation so that economic growth directly benefits the public, particularly young people.
It also emphasises strengthening the tax system, improving financial services, easing access to credit for businesses and mobilising investment from the diaspora and private sector.
The roundtable is examining the country’s economic challenges and measures to accelerate sustainable growth, strengthen the government’s fiscal capacity and advance Somalia’s financial self-reliance.
