MOGADISHU, 27 Oct — Somalia inaugurated the headquarters of the National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) on Tuesday, a move aimed at modernising farming, increasing production and strengthening food security.
The institute will focus on research to improve farming methods, enhance crop quality and develop scientific solutions to challenges facing Somali farmers.
Its opening comes as Somalia places greater emphasis on increasing domestic production and reducing dependence on imported food.
The establishment of the centre highlights the importance of investing in agricultural research and innovation. Its success will depend on the institute’s ability to translate scientific knowledge into practical solutions that benefit Somali farmers.
