Somalia, 11 April 2026 Somalia has announced the final list of 250 Somali women who have won Master’s degree scholarships under the Rajo Kaaba Project, a move described as a significant step toward strengthening women’s education and advancing national development.
The 250 women will pursue studies in 11 different fields aligned with the country’s development priorities, including education, health, administration, and other key sectors essential for Somalia’s reconstruction.
The education will be provided by Kenyatta University in Kenya, while the Somali National University will host the program locally. The initiative is funded by the World Bank.

The project is expected to benefit up to 50,000 women and youth through various education and skills development programs and will run until 2027.
