Libya, 14 June 2026 – Somalia’s new ambassador to Libya, Abdulfatah Sheikh Ahmed Abdulmanan, presented his credentials on Saturday to Libya’s Presidential Council head Mohamed al-Menfi, formally beginning his diplomatic mission in the country.
The ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Presidential Council in Tripoli, according to a statement from the council.
Al-Menfi welcomed the Somali ambassador and wished him success in his duties, saying Libya and Somalia shared deep historical and brotherly relations.
He stressed the importance of increasing political consultations, exchanging expertise and expanding cooperation in key areas to strengthen bilateral ties and respond to regional challenges.

He pledged to work to strengthen relations between the two countries and raise the level of cooperation and coordination across different fields.
