Mogadishu, 12 September 2026 - Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Saturday reviewed the performance of ministers in the Dan Qaran Cabinet, the Prime Minister's Office said.
The assessment focused on ministry performance, challenges encountered during implementation, available opportunities and measures needed to improve government work.
Prime Minister Hamza said the review was based on plans prepared and jointly approved by ministries, with progress measured against agreed objectives.
"We made a plan, you prepared it, and we signed it together. We are reviewing the plan together, looking at the challenges, opportunities and what we can improve," the Prime Minister said.

The assessment used a digital government system for the first time, allowing measurement of ministry performance through percentage-based results and rankings.
The Prime Minister also urged ministers, directors general and technical teams within ministries to strengthen their work and fulfil their assigned responsibilities.
He said the Somali people expect visible services and results from the government, encouraging institutions to continue improving systems for performance monitoring and accountability.
The meeting is part of efforts by the Dan Qaran Cabinet to strengthen government accountability and monitor implementation of national plans.
