Rwanda, 29 December 2025 The Government of Rwanda has reaffirmed its full support for Somalia’s sovereignty, aligning itself with recent statements issued by the African Union (AU) and the East African Community (EAC).
In an official statement released by the Rwandan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Kigali emphasized its commitment to standing with Somalia and backing collective regional positions aimed at safeguarding peace, stability, and sovereignty.

Rwanda noted that it supports efforts to pursue a constructive path forward based on shared peace and prosperity, stressing that such efforts must be guided by international law.
The statement underscores Rwanda’s alignment with continental and regional institutions in supporting Somalia amid ongoing political and diplomatic developments, reflecting a broader consensus within Africa on upholding unity, stability, and lawful international engagement.
