Kenya, 7 November 2026 - Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Minister for Diaspora and Foreign Affairs Musalia Mudavadi on Saturday stated that love indeed knows no borders as he wished the daughter of President William Ruto and her Tanzanian husband the very best in their marriage journey.
“Love knows no borders, and few occasions bring people together more beautifully than the celebration of two hearts becoming one,” Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi and his spouse, Mama Tessie Musalia, were among the key figures from Kenya who joined President William Ruto, First Lady Rachel Ruto, and their family and friends in Mwanza, Tanzania, to celebrate the wedding of First Daughter Charlene Ruto and Tanzanian tech entrepreneur Isaya Yunge.
The PCS said the Friday occasion was joyous and filled with love, laughter and togetherness, reminding everyone of the enduring bonds of family, friendship and the special ties between Kenya and Tanzania.
To the newlyweds, Mudavadi extended his congratulations as they embark on a new chapter.
“May your marriage be blessed with endless love, happiness, friendship and God’s abundant grace,” Mudavadi said.
He wished the couple a lifetime of beautiful memories and shared blessings.
Charlene is a communications strategist and a farmer whose beekeeping skills are unmatched.

Yunge, on the other hand, is a tech expert known for developing an app that helps students find scholarship opportunities. His most popular app is SomaApp, a mobile and web platform launched in 2016 through his company, SomaApps Technologies. The app, which has since changed from its original form, used an automated matching algorithm and search engine to connect African students with tailored domestic and international scholarship and education funding opportunities. He is currently the founder of Goodsam Technologies.
The wedding marks a key milestone in the lives of both Charlene and Yunge, following months of introductions to formalise the union.
On 8 August 2026, a traditional Kalenjin Koito engagement ceremony was held at the Ruto family’s Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County.
Their wedding in Tanzania was attended by a who’s who of guests, including Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the UNEP Mama Ida Odinga and her son Raila Odinga Junior, among other notable figures.
