BAKU, 6 November 2026 – Somalia's Halmeel, a one-stop centre for federal government services, is seeking technical assistance, technology partnerships and capacity building from the United Nations ahead of its official launch, the centre said in a statement on Friday.
Halmeel Director General Mohamed Dubo met Li Junhua, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, and officials from the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), the statement added.
Dubo briefed Li on Halmeel's mandate, the centre's progress, its operational preparations and its plans for the official launch, the centre said.
The two sides discussed potential cooperation between Halmeel and UN DESA, including technical assistance, technology partnerships, institutional capacity development and Somalia's participation in UN DESA's activities.
