Kenya, 25 June 2026 - The Inspector General of the National Police Service, Mr. Douglas Kanja, accompanied by the Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, on Thursday conducted a security assessment to monitor the security situation in Nairobi and Kitengela.
During the assessment, IG Kanja addressed National Police Service officers, commending them for their utmost professionalism in maintaining law and order and protecting critical infrastructure.
The IG further addressed members of the public at various points along the Nairobi–Kitengela Highway.
He reassured them that the country was safe and secure, and urged them to continue with their daily activities, remain peaceful, and cooperate with the police.
In Kitengela, IG Kanja addressed members of the press and the public.

He appreciated their continued cooperation with the police, noting that the security of the country is a collective responsibility.
He stated that the National Police Service remains steadfast and resolute in serving and protecting all Kenyans, residents, and visitors.
