Kenya, 28 October 2026 - As more Kenyan households and businesses explore solar power to meet their electricity needs, access to reliable equipment and trusted suppliers remains an important part of the country’s clean energy transition.
A new partnership between SolarJiji and Acacia Eco Solutions seeks to address that need by making solar technology more accessible through digital channels.
The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand the availability of GoodWe solar inverters and battery energy storage systems in Kenya.
Under the agreement, GoodWe’s residential, commercial and industrial solar products will be listed on SolarJiji’s online marketplace, which connects buyers with vetted solar equipment suppliers. Acacia Eco Solutions will handle local distribution, giving customers and installers a platform through which to access the products.
The partnership comes as solar power gains a larger role in Kenya’s electricity sector. Figures from the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) indicate that solar photovoltaic (PV) systems account for 14.74 per cent of the country’s installed electricity generation capacity.
Kenya’s electricity demand is also increasing. EPRA reported a record peak demand of 2,514.28 megawatts (MW) on 29 June 2026, highlighting the importance of expanding and diversifying electricity supply.
The regulator has also documented growth in captive solar installations, which generate electricity for direct use by homes, businesses and other consumers rather than relying entirely on the national grid. Captive solar capacity reached 373.3 MW in June 2026, compared with 300.5 MW in June 2025.
These developments provide a growing market for solar equipment, including inverters that convert electricity generated by solar panels into usable power, and batteries that store energy for later use.
Solar Firms Target Households and Businesses
GoodWe’s East Africa Director, Garry Yu, said the agreement would bring the company’s products closer to customers and solar installers in Kenya.
“At GoodWe, our goal is to put reliable, efficient solar within reach of more homes and businesses. This partnership brings our solutions closer to Kenyan customers and installers through a trusted platform,” Yu said.
Acacia Eco Solutions Chief Executive Officer and Director Li Lei said working with SolarJiji would extend the company’s reach in the local market.
More from Kenya
“Expanding access to quality solar is at the heart of what we do, and working with SolarJiji extends that reach,” Lei said.
SolarJiji Chief Executive Officer Dorcas Mwigereri said the addition of GoodWe products would broaden the range of solar technology available to buyers through the marketplace.
“Listing GoodWe on our marketplace gives buyers access to Tier 1 technology from a manufacturer they can trust,” Mwigereri said.
GoodWe Products Enter Digital Distribution Channel
Founded in 2010, GoodWe manufactures solar inverters and battery energy storage systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
The company says its products are used in more than 100 countries and that its installed capacity worldwide exceeds 135 gigawatts.
Acacia Eco Solutions distributes GoodWe equipment and LONGi solar modules in Kenya, serving customers across the residential, commercial and industrial markets.
SolarJiji operates a digital marketplace for solar equipment and offers technology services covering solar forecasting, photovoltaic system design, real-time monitoring and predictive analytics.
Its platform serves solar technicians, mini-grid developers, utilities, and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies across Africa.
The partnership aims to connect Kenyan buyers and installers with solar equipment for a range of energy needs, from household installations to larger commercial and industrial systems.
