May 26, 2026 - The ongoing Wajir Township Affordable Housing Project is now 60% complete, marking steady progress in delivering dignified and accessible housing while driving local economic empowerment.
The initiative is not just about building homes. It is also creating jobs for local workers and supporting related businesses such as suppliers and service providers.
Officials say the project is expected to deliver long-term benefits, including improved access to essential services, stronger community ties, and increased economic activity within Wajir Township.
The project has already created jobs for more than 200 workers, including 60 women, highlighting a deliberate focus on inclusive employment and community upliftment.
Construction has now advanced to internal and external plastering, with finishing works beginning to take shape as materials such as tiles arrive on site.
