Kenya, 3 August 2026 - Creditors of United Insurance Company Limited (in liquidation) have been encouraged to submit their Proof of Debt forms by August 21 to participate in the company's creditors' meeting scheduled for next month.
In a notice, Kamal Anantroy Bhatt, the liquidator of United Insurance Company Limited (in liquidation) and a partner at Anant Bhatt LLP, confirmed that the creditors' meeting will be held on 11 September 2026 at KICC from 10:00 am.
The meeting has been convened under the provisions of the Insolvency Act, Chapter 53 of the Laws of Kenya, and is in line with orders issued by the High Court on 28 July 2026.
According to the notice, the meeting will elect seven creditors to constitute the Creditors' Committee, which will represent creditors during the liquidation process.
“The Liquidator of United Insurance Company Limited (in Liquidation) hereby notifies all creditors of the company that have not completed and returned their Proof of Debt Forms to do so without further delay,” the notice read.
“The Proof of Debt Forms may be collected from the Liquidator’s office at the address given below, and should be completed, signed, and returned to the Liquidator to facilitate verification of claims. Upon request, the proof of debt forms will be emailed to any interested creditor,” it added.

The meeting will allow both physical and virtual participation, with a virtual meeting link being provided to creditors who have completed and submitted their Proof of Debt forms.
Bhatt also urged creditors who have not yet submitted their claims to do so without further delay to facilitate verification of their claims.
The notice further warned that the High Court has the jurisdiction to set a final deadline for receiving and verifying claims, after which any claims submitted late may not be considered or settled by the liquidator.
Further proceedings in Winding Up Cause No. 22 of 2006 have been scheduled for 28 September 2026 at 11:30 a.m. before the High Court, Milimani Commercial Courts, with applications, affidavits and court orders issued after 7 December 2024 available through the Court's Case Tracking System (CTS).
