UK, 1 November 2026 - Liverpool host Arsenal on Sunday with a clear aim, as the Reds want to win so that they can leapfrog Chelsea into fifth place in the Premier League table.
The Gunners, meanwhile, travel to Anfield hoping to collect all three points and move three points clear of league leaders Manchester City.
City top the table with 21 points and hold a two-goal advantage over Arsenal on goal difference, but they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion on 31 October 2026.
The win was sweet revenge for Brighton, who had lost to City on 28 October 2026 in the fourth round of the EFL Cup (Carabao Cup). City advanced after a 2-2 draw in normal time, winning the penalty shootout 4-3.
City have now dropped points in last two matches in the Premier League, after they lost to Aston Villa when Nicolas Jackson scored a brace and Erling Haaland pulled one for the visitors at Villa Park in Birmingham on 24 October 2026.
Arsenal, for their part, will be looking to return to winning ways after they exited the fourth round of the same competition, losing on penalties to Fleetwood following a 1-1 draw in normal time.
