June 20, 2026 - The TESOT community of the larger Ajuran clan has endorsed Yussuf Adan Gabo as its sole candidate for the Buna-Batalu Ward MCA seat in the 2027 elections.
The endorsement ceremony, held in Batalu Town, was presided over by Council Members — the highest decision-making body of the TESOT community — and backed by patron and senior politician Osman Gure. Chairperson Abshir Ali Guda presented Gabo with a certificate on behalf of the Council, co-signed by Gure.
The event drew thousands from across the TESOT community, including political leaders, diaspora representatives, professionals, youth, women, and religious leaders. Traditional dancers and elders marked the occasion with vibrant cultural performances and blessings, signalling strong widespread backing for Gabo's bid.
Speaking at the ceremony, Guda said the community had resolved to front a single candidate to avoid splitting votes and strengthen their position ahead of the polls. He described Gabo as a tested leader capable of delivering development to the ward.
Patron Osman Gure urged unity among Ajuran sub-clans, saying a consolidated candidacy would give the community a stronger voice in the county assembly. He called on rival aspirants to step aside in favour of the endorsed candidate.
The endorsement sets the stage for a broader political unity agreement between the TESOT community, Charot community, other Ajuran sub-clans, and allied groups in Batalu Town. Leaders said the pact would be formalised in the coming weeks to secure victory in the 2027 polls.

Gabo, a community leader, pledged to prioritise education, water, and health infrastructure if elected. He thanked Council Members and the larger TESOT family for their confidence.
The Buna-Batalu Ward seat is expected to attract multiple candidates from other clans and political parties, making the unity vote critical for any aspirant seeking to unseat the incumbent lawmaker.
Political analysts say single-clan endorsements have become a key feature of ward-level politics in the region, where community backing often determines electoral outcomes well before polling day arrives.
