Somalia (Dawan Africa) Police in Somalia’s breakaway region of Somaliland said they had arrested a man accused of killing his wife in the town of Burco.
In a statement, Somaliland police said Ibrahim Ahmed Osman was detained following the killing of his wife, Shamsa Caydid Yusuf, in Burco’s Nafaqo neighbourhood.
Police said the suspect was arrested during a joint operation carried out by officers from the Togdheer regional police division, including personnel from Mohamed Ali police station.
Authorities said investigations into the case were continuing as security agencies gathered further information about the incident.

Police also praised officers and individuals involved in the operation that led to the suspect’s arrest.
The case comes amid a series of murder investigations reported in Somaliland in recent months, with police announcing arrests and manhunts linked to separate killings.
In some previous cases, suspects were arrested in Ethiopia’s Somali regional state, reflecting security cooperation between authorities on both sides of the border.
