ANKARA, Türkiye, Aug. 23, 2026 — Somalia’s Office of the Auditor General and the Turkish Court of Accounts have completed the third phase of a cooperation programme focused on information systems auditing, the Somali auditor general’s office said Saturday.
The five-day programme, held in Ankara from Aug. 17 to Aug. 21, was supported by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and aimed at strengthening the capacity of Somali auditors to assess and audit digital systems.
The training covered information systems risk assessment, audit procedures, information security, data analysis and the use of artificial intelligence in auditing, while officials from the two institutions exchanged technical expertise.
Experts from the Turkish Court of Accounts shared audit methodologies and practical experience with the Somali delegation, using examples from information systems audits to support the training and discussions.

The Somali delegation also visited the headquarters of HAVELSAN in Ankara, a Turkish defence and technology company, where officials were briefed on its work and technologies.
Somalia’s auditor general’s office said the cooperation would strengthen professional skills in information systems auditing and promote the exchange of knowledge and experience between the two institutions.
The office thanked the Turkish Court of Accounts and TİKA for supporting and hosting the programme.
The training is part of broader cooperation between Somalia’s Office of the Auditor General and Turkish audit institutions aimed at strengthening technical capacity and improving oversight of government systems.
