Somalia, 5 July 2026 – The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) said it distributed food aid to vulnerable families in central and southern Somalia on Sunday as part of efforts to ease worsening humanitarian conditions.
The agency said the aid was jointly distributed in the towns of Masagawaa, Ceeldheer and Ceelasha Biyaha in Galgaduud and Lower Shabelle regions.
Officials said the assistance consisted of basic food supplies intended to support drought-affected and low-income households facing difficult living conditions.
Local officials and SoDMA representatives attended the distribution events, alongside district authorities from the affected areas.
