Ethiopia, 21 December 2025 The President of Ethiopia’s Somali Region, Mustafa Mohammed Omar, on Sunday inaugurated the “Misob” One-Stop Service Centre, a flagship initiative aimed at consolidating key government services that were previously scattered across multiple offices into a single location.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives from the Office of the Prime Minister, senior officials from the Somali Regional State and invited guests.
In his address, the regional president described the launch of the Misob Centre as a major milestone in improving public service delivery, noting that it will significantly speed up administrative procedures, reduce time and effort for citizens, and enhance overall satisfaction with government services.

He emphasized that the Centre will play a crucial role in modernizing public administration by addressing long-standing challenges caused by fragmented service provision. By offering multiple services through a single window, the Misob Centre is expected to ensure efficiency, transparency, and easier access, while strengthening trust between the government and the public.
The Somali Regional Executive Council had approved the regulatory framework governing the management of Misob’s budget and resources during its third session held on 16 September 2025. The centre was officially launched within less than three months of that approval, with plans underway to gradually replicate the model across other cities in the region in the coming period.
