Ethiopia, 20 December, 2025 Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said the country has successfully completed the implementation of the “Digital Ethiopia 2025” strategy after achieving most of its planned objectives, while officially launching the new “Digital Ethiopia 2030” strategy.
Abiy Ahmed explained that the new strategy focuses on expanding access to digital services, ensuring equal opportunities for citizens, and strengthening trust between the state and society as key pillars of Ethiopia’s comprehensive digital transformation.

He noted that the government will intensify efforts in the coming phase, particularly in expanding public digital infrastructure, to build strong national digital capabilities and improve the quality of life and public service delivery.
The Prime Minister added that the Digital Ethiopia initiatives align with the country’s broader national strategies by simplifying bureaucratic procedures, enhancing institutional efficiency, and accelerating inclusive development.
