Djibouti City — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Djibouti on Friday to attend the country's Independence Day celebrations and hold talks with President Ismail Guelleh.
President Hassan Sheikh and his delegation were welcomed at Djibouti's international airport by senior government officials.
According to Somalia's presidency, the President Mohamud is among regional heads of state and international representatives invited to attend the national celebrations commemorating Djibouti's independence from France on June 27, 1977.

During his stay, the President is expected to hold bilateral talks with his Djiboutian counterpart Ismaïl Omar Guelleh. The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relationship between the two countries and expanding cooperation in security, trade and regional affairs.
The visit comes as Somalia and Djibouti continue to deepen political and security cooperation, with both countries playing a key role in regional efforts to promote stability across the Horn of Africa.
