Riyadh, 22 August 2026 Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has signed an agreement with Zamzam Foundation to implement an agricultural development project expected to benefit 4,800 people in Somalia, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
The project, part of the “Seed” initiative, aims to support farmers, improve productivity and promote sustainable development.
The agreement was signed at KSrelief’s headquarters in Riyadh by Assistant Supervisor-General for Operations and Programmes Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz and Zamzam Foundation Chief Executive Officer Omar Jama Adam.

The project will rehabilitate abandoned farmland, repair main and secondary irrigation channels and provide solar-powered water pumps in Hirshabelle and South West states, SPA said.
It will also provide farmers with tools and inputs and train them in modern farming practices. Three agricultural cooperatives will receive farm tractors under the supervision of Somalia’s Ministry of Agriculture.
The project is part of Saudi humanitarian and relief efforts through KSrelief to support vulnerable communities, strengthen food security and improve livelihoods, SPA said.
