Kenya , May 13, 2026 - The Kenya Wildlife Service has announced revised charges for schools and students visiting parks and sanctuaries over the next two and a half months.
The changes were announced under the "Ji-achile in Kenya Parks," which aims to encourage schools to experience and explore the country’s wildlife heritage at cheaper rates. The offers are set to last until 31 July.
All students, including those from tertiary institutions, shall enjoy a 33 percent discount to premium parks like Amboseli and Lake Nakuru, dropping to Ksh500 from Ksh750.
On the other hand, for students going to Nairobi and Tsavo National Parks, they will enjoy a 20 percent discount, thus paying Ksh400 instead of Ksh500.
During this period, 25-44-seater buses will pay Ksh 3,000, down from Ksh 4,500, while 45+ seater school buses will also pay just Ksh 3,000 instead of Ksh 5,000.
For the free entry, for every 100 paying students, 10 will receive free entry, as well as up to 3 teachers or minders for any park reserve or sanctuary.
The service has, however, clarified that children under six will access the parks free of charge until communicated otherwise.
Every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, schools will also enjoy a 10 percent discount on entry fees, according to the service.
“Offers are exclusively valid for schools and students From Nursery school through tertiary institutions, including universities. Valid from 1st March - 31st July 2026. T&Cs Apply,” stated KWS.
The announcement comes just days after the new charges for all museums and heritage sites across the country, introduced by the National Museums of Kenya (NMK), took effect on May 7.
In a notice on April 7, the NMK said that the changes are in line with the National Museums and Heritage (Admissions Fees) Regulations of 2025, which proposed almost threefold charges in some sites.
