Kenya, 6 January 2026 - Gor Mahia reclaimed top spot in the FKF Premier League with a commanding 4-1 victory over Kariobangi Sharks at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, delivering a dominant performance that underlined their title credentials.
The record champions drew first blood in the 20th minute when Ben Stanley Omondi found the back of the net with a composed finish to put Gor Mahia ahead.
The early goal set the tone for K’Ogalo, who controlled the tempo and looked dangerous in the final third throughout the first half.
Approaching half-time, Gor Mahia extended their lead. Ebenezer Adu-Kwaw Boadi Ebenezer doubled the advantage in the 45th minute, expertly converting from close range after good build-up play, sending them into the interval with a comfortable 2-0 lead.
The second half began with Kariobangi Sharks trying to find a way back into the game, and they were rewarded in the 57th minute when Humphrey Aroko pulled one back to make it 2-1. The goal provided a brief lifeline for the visitors, but it proved only a temporary spark.

Gor Mahia re-established their authority late in the contest with two quickfire goals that put the result beyond doubt. In the 83rd minute, Samuel Kappen slotted home to make it 3-1, and just four minutes later, Felix Oluoch found space in the box to notch Gor’s fourth, sealing the emphatic win.
The victory moves Gor Mahia onto 26 points from thirteen games, placing them top of the FKF Premier League standings, two points clear of rivals such as Kakamega Homeboyz, AFC Leopards, and Tusker, who are closely bunched behind, despite having played two games less. Sharks remain rooted near the bottom of the table with 12 points and continue to battle for form and results.
The result highlighted Gor Mahia’s attacking strength and resilience at a key juncture in the league campaign as they aim to secure another league crown. The champions will now look to build on this momentum in their upcoming fixture against Shabana in five days to extend their lead at the top.
