Kenya, 5 August 2026 - Kenya's push towards cleaner and more reliable energy received a boost on Wednesday after global solar technology company GoodWe unveiled its latest E0 G2 solar inverter, a product the firm says is designed to improve efficiency, enhance user experience and meet the country's growing demand for renewable energy solutions.
The launch, held in Nairobi, brought together renewable energy stakeholders, industry experts and solar installers, highlighting the increasing role of smart technologies in expanding access to affordable and sustainable power.
Speaking during the event, GoodWe Regional Director, SSA Region, Lucas Lu, said access to dependable energy remains a key driver of economic growth, noting that the company's latest innovation is intended to support Kenya's transition to a cleaner energy future.
"Reliable energy is the beginning of economic transformation for any country. We are committed to empowering Kenya with innovative technologies that provide dependable and efficient power for homes and businesses," said Lu.
The E0 G2 inverter incorporates several intelligent features aimed at simplifying installation and day-to-day operation.

The E0 G2 is designed to make solar energy more practical for everyday use. It features a bright touchscreen for instant control, while built‑in Bluetooth and WiFi allow homeowners to monitor their systems with ease. Its weatherproof design ensures durability in outdoor conditions, and an ultra‑silent mode keeps operation discreet in residential settings.
Conventional button controls have also been retained for added flexibility.
In the event of a power outage, the E0 G2 provides full‑home backup with a switchover time of less than four milliseconds, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply.
The inverter also works with most mainstream solar panels and can be expanded to support up to ten units, making it suitable for both small and large installations.
GoodWe highlights that the E0 G2 can maximize energy yield by handling extra solar input, while maintaining reliable performance across extreme temperatures ranging from –35°C to +60°C. The product comes with a five‑year warranty, underscoring the company’s confidence in its durability.

The inverter is capable of efficiently supporting high-demand appliances, including air conditioners, making it well suited for homes and commercial buildings in hot climates where cooling systems are essential.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Renewable Energy Association (KEREA), Cynthia Angweya Muhati, welcomed GoodWe's continued investment in professional training, saying the growth of the solar sector depends not only on quality products but also on competent technicians.
"Training gives us confidence that installations are being handled by qualified professionals, which ultimately enhances safety and consumer confidence," she said.
She noted that although Kenya hopes to achieve 100 percent clean power through renewable energy, those were very ambitious targets.
Financing and regulations stood as some of the major challenges towards achieving the goal.
Muhati noted that KEREA is collaborating with regulators to ensure that renewable energy equipment entering the Kenyan market complies with the required quality and safety standards, protecting consumers while promoting the adoption of clean energy technologies.
The launch comes as Kenya experiences rising demand for solar energy, driven by increasing electricity costs, improved renewable energy technologies and a growing interest among households and businesses in reducing their dependence on the national grid.
Innovations such as smart inverters will play an increasingly important role in improving the efficiency, reliability and accessibility of solar power across the country.
