Kenya, 21 August 2026 - Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has renewed calls for investigations into the death of former Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno, describing the late politician as a fearless champion of justice, equality and community interests.
Gachagua, Kenya’s former Deputy President, said Ng’eno was a forthright leader whose sudden death left unanswered questions that continue to trouble many Kenyans.
“My friend, the late Johanna Ng’eno, was a formidable leader who championed the principles of equity and equality in leadership. He was a straightforward leader, fiercely protective of his community and committed to justice,” Gachagua said.
The former Deputy President called on authorities to launch immediate investigations into the circumstances surrounding Ng’eno’s death and urged the government to consider involving international investigative agencies, including Scotland Yard or the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), to establish the truth.
“His untimely passing shook the entire nation, leaving many questions unanswered to this day. We call upon the authorities to immediately initiate investigations into his death and consider involving international agencies such as Scotland Yard or the FBI to uncover the truth behind the demise of one of the most distinguished Kipsigis leaders,” he said.
Gachagua spoke after visiting Mama Mary Temas, the mother of the late former legislator, at Mogondo village in Emurua Dikirr, Narok County.
He expressed concern over the condition of Ng’eno’s family, saying promises made during the former MP’s funeral had not been fulfilled.

“It is disheartening to see Mama Mary in a state of distress despite assurances that were made during her son’s funeral,” Gachagua said.
To preserve the memory of his late ally, Gachagua announced that he had directed the immediate construction of a mausoleum at Ng’eno’s gravesite.
He said the project would serve as a lasting tribute to the former legislator’s contribution to leadership and public service.
Ng’eno, who served as Emurua Dikirr MP, was widely known for his outspoken style of politics and his advocacy for the interests of the Kipsigis community.
“May Ng’eno continue to rest in peace, and may perpetual light shine upon him,” Gachagua said.
