HARGEELLE (Dawan Africa) Election campaigning by Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party has extended to sports activities in the Somali regional state, where party candidates in Hargeelle district launched a football tournament as part of their campaign outreach.
The tournament, held in Hargeelle district in the Afdheer zone of Ethiopia’s Somali region, was opened by several Prosperity Party candidates contesting local seats, including Daahir Sheikh Abdi, head of the Somali Regional State Cooperative Development and Promotion Agency.
Organizers said sports kits were distributed to nine local football teams participating in the tournament before the competition was officially launched.
