Djibouti (Dawan) – Djiboutian and French forces met on Thursday under the newly established Military Strategic Dialogue Committee, formed as part of the defence cooperation agreement between the two countries, according to the Djibouti News Agency.
The session took place at the Hassan Bassoma Officers’ Command, the headquarters of the Djibouti Armed Forces’ Directorate of International Relations (DGRI). The French delegation was led by Brigadier General Patrick Vaglio and included representatives from the Directorate for International Relations and Strategy of the French Ministry of Armed Forces, French troops stationed in Djibouti, and the defence mission of the French Embassy.
The French delegation was received by Colonel Ibrahim Zakaria Cheick, Director General of International Relations of the Djibouti Armed Forces. Senior Djiboutian officers attending included the Air Force Commander, Head of the General Staff Planning Office, Commander of the Hol Hol Non-Commissioned Officers’ School, and the Acting Naval Commander.
