NAIROBI (Dawan) Djibouti’s Foreign Minister Abdoulkader Houssein Omar represented President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh at the Africa Forward Summit held Monday and Tuesday in Nairobi, Djibouti’s state news agency ADI reported.
The summit was jointly chaired by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, bringing together African leaders, government officials and private sector representatives.
Discussions focused on strengthening economic cooperation between Africa and France, promoting investment and coordinating responses to global challenges related to security, international governance and economic transformation.
Djibouti’s foreign minister participated in a session on United Nations reform, an issue African countries have long raised as they seek greater representation in global decision-making bodies, particularly the U.N. Security Council.

Omar also took part in broader discussions on peace and security as several regions across Africa continue to face prolonged security challenges, from the Sahel to the Horn of Africa.
The summit also addressed infrastructure financing, technological innovation and industrial cooperation.
