Djibouti and Egypt are exploring trade and investment opportunities worth about $155 million, Egypt’s ambassador to Djibouti said at a business forum aimed at strengthening economic ties.
The remarks were made during a “Business Day: Egyptian Products” event hosted by the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce on April 30, which brought together officials, business leaders and diplomats from both countries.
Egypt’s ambassador, Abdelrahman Rafat Khattab, said the two sides are seeking to expand cooperation across sectors including textiles, food products and agricultural technologies.
“There is significant potential to deepen trade relations, with opportunities estimated at around $155 million,” Khattab said, highlighting the role of such forums in promoting investment partnerships.
Djibouti Chamber of Commerce President Yusuf Muse Dawale said the initiative reflects efforts to strengthen economic cooperation and build long-term partnerships.
