Djibouti, 17 November 2025 — Customs officers in Ali-Sabieh have seized nearly 30 kilograms of cannabis during a routine inspection at the Galilee border crossing, authorities said on Monday.
According to officials, the narcotics were concealed inside the spare wheels of a transport truck.

The driver was arrested on the spot and handed over, along with the illicit cargo, to the Northern Brigade of the Gendarmerie, which has opened a criminal investigation before referring the case to prosecutors.
Customs officials noted that the Ali-Sabieh Brigade, led by Djilani Chehem Mohamed, has carried out several successful anti-smuggling operations in recent months targeting narcotics and other illegal goods.
Reacting to the seizure, the Director General of Customs, Gouled Ahmed Youssouf, praised the officers for their vigilance and professionalism, saying their work “helps protect citizens from the dangers of illegal products.”
