France, August 11, 2026 - Paris Saint-Germain have reached a deal in principle with Parma for the signing of Japan international goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, according to the latest confirmation from Fabrizio Romano.
The agreement is understood to be worth a total package of €35 million, with the remaining details of the deal now being finalized between the two clubs. The development represents a major step forward in PSG's pursuit of the highly rated Japanese goalkeeper after the French champions pushed ahead of Juventus in the race for his signature.
PSG finally reach agreement with Parma#
PSG had been working on the signing for several days after initially making an official proposal for Suzuki.
The French champions previously submitted a package worth €33 million before improving their offer. Reports subsequently indicated that PSG had reworked the structure of their proposal to reach a €35 million package.
Romano's latest update confirms that an agreement in principle has now been reached with Parma.
That means the transfer has progressed substantially beyond the earlier stage when PSG were simply negotiating with Parma.
However, the deal should still be distinguished from a fully completed transfer. The formal completion, documentation and other final steps remain before Suzuki can officially be presented as a PSG player.
Juventus could still become Suzuki's next destination#
The fascinating part of the deal is what PSG intend to do with Suzuki after signing him.
PSG are considering sending the goalkeeper out on loan so that he can continue playing regularly rather than immediately becoming part of a crowded goalkeeping situation in Paris.
Juventus are one of the clubs being considered for that loan.
Recent reporting indicates that Juventus have identified Suzuki as a leading option for their goalkeeping position, but the Italian club must still decide whether to proceed with the proposed arrangement.
The situation is therefore unusual: Suzuki could officially become a PSG player before potentially spending the 2026-27 season playing for Juventus in Serie A.
The move is a significant investment in a goalkeeper who is still only 23.

Suzuki has developed rapidly since leaving Japan for European football. He spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Belgian side Sint-Truiden, making 32 league appearances before moving permanently to Parma.
Parma signed him in July 2024 on a five-year contract, and he subsequently established himself in Serie A.
His performances have made him one of the most interesting young goalkeepers in European football.
Suzuki began his senior career with Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan before making the move to Europe.
His time at Sint-Truiden was an important development stage. Playing regularly in Belgium allowed him to gain experience outside Japan before taking the next step into one of Europe's major leagues.
He then joined Parma, where he made his Serie A debut against Fiorentina in August 2024.
The progression from Japan to Belgium and then Serie A has given Suzuki experience at increasingly demanding levels.
Suzuki is also an established member of the Japan national team.
He made his senior international debut in 2022 and has continued to feature for his country.

After that, the focus will shift to Suzuki's short-term future.
