Kenya, 1 July 2026 - Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has emerged as Kenya's highest-rated Member of Parliament in a new nationwide performance survey, reflecting growing public focus on service delivery and accountability among elected leaders.
The latest CountyTrak Performance Index 2026, released by Infotrak Research and Consulting, gave Babu an 80% approval rating, placing him ahead of all 289 other constituency MPs.
Kabuchai MP Joseph Kalasinga was ranked second with 78 per cent, while Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and Taveta MP John Bwire tied for third place with 76 per cent each.
The findings were unveiled during the launch of the CountyTrak Performance Index 2026 in Nairobi.
According to Infotrak, the survey measures public satisfaction with Members of Parliament based on factors such as service delivery, accessibility, responsiveness and how well leaders meet the expectations of their constituents.
The report also ranked several other lawmakers among the country's best-performing MPs.
Samburu West MP Josephine Lesuuda, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek, Keiyo South MP Gideon Kimaiyo Kipkoech, Belgut MP Nelson Koech and Mkurweini MP John Gichohi Kaguchia each recorded 73 per cent approval ratings.

Infotrak said the rankings are based on citizens' assessment of their leaders' performance rather than political affiliation.
The survey was conducted between January and May 2026, covering all 47 counties, 290 constituencies and 1,450 wards, with responses collected from 87,286 Kenyans.
To ensure broad representation, each constituency had at least 300 respondents, while data were collected through Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) and analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).
The latest rankings come as elected leaders face increasing public scrutiny over their development record, accessibility and delivery of campaign promises ahead of the 2027 General Election.
