Addis Ababa (Dawan Africa) The African Union, UN and France will hold an international conference in November to mobilize support for AU Peace Fund, officials said.
The agreement followed a meeting between the African Union Commission Chairperson, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The three leaders agreed that the conference would mobilize resources from the private sector to strengthen the African Union Peace Fund, which plays an important role in supporting peace and security efforts across the continent.
The conference is expected to be held on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum, scheduled to take place in France on November 11 and 12, 2026.
The consultations also focused on the need to strengthen international support for African efforts in conflict prevention, mediation, and peace support operations.
