Kenya, April 8, 2026 - The Office of the Attorney General has launched Public Trustee Services on the e-Citizen platform in a bid to enhance access to government services.
In a statement on Wednesday, April 8, the Office of the Attorney General announced that the initiative will enable members of the public, particularly those in remote areas, to access Public Trustee services in real-time at a reduced cost and without the need to travel to Nairobi.
Through the platform, individuals will have access to information related to the administration of estates of deceased persons, management of trusts for minors and persons with disabilities, as well as the distribution of accident compensation funds handled by the Public Trustee.
“This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing access to justice and improving service delivery through digital transformation,” the statement read.
“The initiative is designed to provide a seamless, efficient, and accessible platform for members of the public seeking Public Trustee services,” it added.
As a result, all applications for public Trustee services at the Nairobi office will be processed exclusively through the eCitizen platform, effective immediately, according to the Attorney General.
The AG is optimistic that the move will be fundamental in modernizing government services as well as expanding access to justice across the country.
“The Office of the Attorney General calls upon all stakeholders and the general public to embrace this digital solution as part of the ongoing efforts to modernize government services,” it stated.
eCitizen is the Government online service portal that allows individuals, businesses, and organisations to access over 16,000 digital government services from more than 100 ministries and agencies.
Almost a month ago, the platform announced some adjustments that were aimed at enhancing its effectiveness and overall user experience.
The website said that it will begin displaying official notices, announcements, and commercial advertisements from approved partners.
“Access to government services will not be affected. All services will remain secure and reliable, and users' privacy will continue to be protected,” the platform said in a statement on March 13.
