Kenya, 30 July 2026 - The Asare community in Takaba Mandera West has endorsed Alinur Mohamed, popularly known as Alinur Finance, as its preferred candidate for the Mandera gubernatorial seat in the 2027 General Election.
Addressing residents after receiving the endorsement, Alinur said the backing reflected the growing demand for change in Mandera County, pledging to offer accountable and transparent leadership if elected.
"The people of Mandera County are demanding change, and today the Asare community has made its choice. I humbly accept this endorsement and offer myself to serve as the next Governor of Mandera County," he said.
Alinur, who cited his background in finance and public service, said his administration would prioritize prudent management of public resources, improved service delivery, and economic growth.
He pledged to restore accountability and transparency in county governance, rebuild the health sector, revive the local economy, and ensure that every shilling allocated to Mandera County is used for the benefit of its residents.
"With my experience in finance and public service, I know we can restore accountability and transparency, rebuild our healthcare system, revitalize our local economy, and ensure every shilling allocated to Mandera County is spent for the benefit of our people," he said.
The gubernatorial hopeful urged residents to elect leaders with proven competence in public administration and financial management, saying effective leadership is key to addressing the county's development challenges.
"As we prepare for the 2027 General Election, I call upon the people of Mandera County to elect leaders who understand public service and financial management leaders who can solve the challenges facing our county and improve the lives of our people," he added.

Alinur also announced that he would contest the seat under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and reaffirmed his support for President William Ruto's administration.
"We have chosen UDA as our political party, and we will work closely with President William Ruto in supporting the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda for the benefit of Mandera County and the country at large," he said.
He further appealed to residents to register as voters and obtain national identity cards ahead of the next general election, emphasizing that widespread voter registration would be critical in determining the county's future leadership.
"I urge every eligible resident to register as a voter and ensure they have a national identity card. Encourage your family members and friends to do the same because every vote will count in shaping the future of Mandera County," he said.
The endorsement marks one of the early political declarations ahead of the 2027 elections, as aspirants continue to seek support from communities across Mandera County.
