Tanzania, 3 April 2026 – Twenty-one Somali Civil Aviation officers have graduated from advanced training in Tanzania, part of efforts to strengthen airspace safety and rebuild the sector after decades of disruption.
The six-month training programme, conducted at Tanzania’s Civil Aviation Training Centre, focused on air traffic management and compliance with international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) said on Thursday that the training is aimed at enhancing technical capacity and improving the safety and efficiency of Somalia’s airspace operations.
The graduation ceremony was attended by senior officials from Somalia and Tanzania, including the Director General of the SCAA, Ahmed Moallin Hassan, and counterparts from Tanzania’s aviation authority.

The SCAA said the officers are expected to play a key role in strengthening civil aviation services and improving operational standards in Somalia.
