Djibouti, 6 May 2026 – About 100 houses are ready for displaced families in Djaga-Bouldhouq, state media said.
The new units, located in the Nassib development area, in the southern part of the capital, range from 96 to 192 m². The project is considered a crucial in the government's initiative to rehabilitate vulnerable areas.
The Director General of the National Agency for Urban Development and Public Housing (ARULoS) Abdourahman Ali Ahmed, dismissed reports on social media, claiming the housing site was near the Shebelley waste dump. He clarified that the project is situated close to the military area.

According to ARULoS, the Nassib area is planned to host thousands of other social housing units, which will form part of the government’s broader strategy to provide housing and enhance urban planning.
Officials confirmed that he transfer process had been completed and formal occupation by first group of beneficiaries is expected soon.
