Kenya, April 30, 2026 - YouTube TV is rolling out a new multiview customization feature that gives users more control on how they watch live content on the platform.
The update has erased previous restrictions that limited users to pre-selected channel bundles, allowing one to build a personalised split-screen viewing experience.
Users will now have the ability to mix any livestream that is currently airing on the platform across different packages. It will include filter options for categories such as sports, news, shows, movies, and other live broadcasts, as well as the integration of personalised recommendations.
Google says that the new feature is expected to boost viewership during major events such as football tournaments, when viewers often prefer to follow multiple matches at once.
“Multiview has been one of the absolute best reasons to subscribe to YouTube TV, especially during football season or March Madness,” it stated.
“ However, until now, users have been restricted to selecting from pre-curated bundles of channels assembled by Google. Starting right now, that restriction is lifting,” it added.

However, google has indicated that the Multiview remains limited on live programming, meaning that users cannot include video-on-demand (VOD) content or recorded DVR shows.
Additionally, some specific family-friendly content is excluded from the customization tool.
While the majority of modern devices support the feature, the company noted that some older devices don’t have the processing power to handle the full customization UI. Users of these devices will still have access to the basic Multiview builder focused on major events such as the NFL or the World Cup.
“The Full Multiview Customization feature is ramping up now and should reach all users over the coming weeks. If you find yourself in a spot where you need to upgrade your hardware to take advantage, perhaps the brand new Onn 4K Pro is something you should check out!” the company stated.
