Kenya, December 10 2025 - President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has intensified its grassroots mobilization in Nyeri County, signalling a renewed push to strengthen its structures and reinforce support across its key strongholds.
In a strategic engagement held at Kagumo Teachers’ Training College on Wednesday, senior elected leaders from the region convened to evaluate the party’s organizational health, rally supporters, and realign UDA’s vision with the needs of the people.
The meeting drew hundreds of delegates from across the county, marking one of the most vibrant grassroots activities by the ruling party in recent months.
Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi, who led the county team, said the robust turnout demonstrated the party’s continued relevance and the trust it enjoys among residents.
“We took the UDA message back to the people, and the energy, discipline and unity we witnessed proved one thing — our party is alive, focused and unstoppable,” Mr Wamumbi said.
He noted that the session provided space for candid discussions on the party’s growth, the effectiveness of its grassroots structures and the strategic direction ahead.

“The turnout, the commitment and the clarity from the engagement sent a clear signal: UDA remains the home of the hustler nation and progressive leadership. We are building a party that listens, mobilizes and grows from the grassroots upward,” he added.

Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga, who also addressed the gathering, said reconnecting with the electorate at the community level was essential for sustaining the party’s momentum. “Back to the grassroots, strengthening the UDA spirit where it matters most, with the people,” he said.
“The unity, the energy and the sense of purpose on the ground made one thing clear: this movement is steady, focused and growing. Step by step, community by community, we are building a strong party. Onward, always.”
Other leaders present included Woman Representative Rahab Mukami, Nyeri Town MP Maina Mathenge, Othaya MP Wambugu Wainaina, Kieni MP Njoroge Wainaina and Chinga MCA Kiruga Thuku.
The leaders emphasized that regular engagement with supporters would help the party refine its political strategies, respond better to local concerns and maintain its influence in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region.
The Nyeri mobilization meeting is part of a broader UDA strategy aimed at revitalizing grassroots networks, consolidating the party’s base and preparing for future political contests.
As national political dynamics continue to shift, the ruling party is seeking to fortify internal unity and strengthen its presence on the ground, a move insiders say will be crucial ahead of the next General Election .
