Somalia, 12 April 2026 — Political party Towfiiq has expanded into Baidoa, signaling a push to deepen its influence in South West State.
The party was formally introduced in the city during an event that brought together officials, intellectuals, and members of the public.
Although the party has previously operated in other parts of the country, its leadership said the Baidoa launch marks a key step in expanding its political activities, with a focus on strengthening democracy and public engagement.
Secretary General Mohamed Sheikh Ali said the party will prioritize citizen participation and electoral development.

“We call on the Somali people to actively take part in voter registration and support meaningful political change,” he said.
Towfiiq officials also stressed their ambition to create a platform that unites fresh ideas capable of reshaping Somalia’s political landscape, highlighting the importance of transparency, accountability, and capable leadership.
The participants at the event expressed hope that the party will play a constructive role in advancing both politics and development in the country.
