Somalia, 2 November 2025 —Three Al-Shabaab fighters involved in urgency activities in South West State have surrendered to security forces.
Photos posted today on the South West State Security and Intelligence Agency’s Facebook page showed the three men, who were reported to have voluntarily surrendered.
The agency said the three fighters provided crucial information about Al-Shabaab activities in the area.
However, the officers did not disclose the names of the men, areas they had been operating, or the location they surrendered.
Security agencies in South West Somalia normally publicize Al-Shabaab fighters who surrender, warning those who do not lay down their weapons of serious consequences.
South West State remains one of the regions in Somalia where Al-Shabaab is still present and active.
