The reported incursion occurred on November 22, 2025, when Ethiopian military forces advanced from the Sesii area, pushing nearly two kilometres inside Kenyan territory and stopping just short of Moyale Police Station. The proximity of the troops to a major security installation immediately triggered a coordinated response.
According to an official police report filed at Moyale Police Station (OB No. 32/22/11/2025), officers from the Kenya Police Service, the Administration Police, and the Border Patrol Unit engaged the intruding forces in a fierce exchange of gunfire that lasted close to two hours.
