Kenya, December 15 2025 - Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has hit back at critics from the Northeastern region, saying his rise in leadership is anchored on his fear of God and claims that seek to undermine his political standing and record of service.
Speaking at Habaswein during the homecoming ceremony of Mohamed Aden Abdi, a commissioner at the Salary and Remuneration Commission, Duale said Ruto has brought different political parties into his government including the Orange Democratic movement (ODM) dismissing critics the broad-based government has united the country.
The vocal former Garissa Township lawmaker said there are many youths and people from the region who have top government jobs including various independent commissions. He took the example of SRC commissioner and former Wajir women Representative Fatuma Gedi who is currently serving as commissioner for commission for Revenue Allocation (CRA).
Duale said Ruto’s administration has restored dignity and honour to people of the region adding that President Ruto means well for the country. “There are people who are jealous, when your brother has a better seat you need to be proud of him, you need to stop being jealous, getting a position of leadership comes from God,” he told the crowd at Habaswein.
In the recent past a section of leaders including governors and members of parliament has been critical to Ruto’s administration claiming all his promises to the region have not been fulfilled. Fafi member of parliament Salah Yakub and his Wajir North counterparts have been leading a group of leaders critical to Ruto’s administration.
