Hargeisa – President Abdirahman Mohamed Irro said Somaliland is strengthening partnerships with the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Israel to expand international cooperation.
In an interview with i24NEWS, President Irro said partnerships with other nations are also in the pipeline.
“We are strengthening cooperation with the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, and many other countries. Some of these partnerships have already started, others will come in the future,” he said.
Irro added the impact of some of the partnerships are already being felt in Somaliland.

He urged more nations to recognize the independence of Somaliland to benefit from opportunities Somaliland has to offer.
“My message is very clear: please join before it is too late,” he said.
Asked what he meant by “too late,” Irro responded that countries delaying recognition of Somaliland “could miss out on opportunities that are available today.”
The president’s remarks come as Somaliland continues efforts to expand its diplomatic outreach and attract international investment. Recent reports have also indicated that Somaliland is seeking to deepen economic and security ties with Israel, while hoping that additional countries may eventually move toward recognizing Somaliland.
