TADJOURAH, 31 October 2026 The Ismail Omar Guelleh (IOG) Foundation has handed over keys to newly built homes to 56 low-income families in Tadjourah, Djibouti, as part of an ongoing programme aimed at supporting households unable to afford adequate housing.
The handover ceremony took place on Thursday in Tadjourah, according to the Djiboutian News Agency (ADI). The initiative forms part of the foundation’s efforts to expand access to housing for economically disadvantaged communities.
The programme is part of the social housing policy pursued by President Ismail Omar Guelleh’s administration, which prioritises providing adequate housing for vulnerable and low-income households.
With the latest allocation, the foundation has provided a total of 516 housing units to families across Djibouti’s interior regions, according to ADI.
The housing programme aims to improve living conditions for disadvantaged families by expanding access to permanent housing, particularly in communities outside the capital.
