Somalia, 21 October 2025 — Jubaland State President Ahmed Mohamed Islam ‘Madobe’ has officially inaugurated the new headquarters of the Jubaland Intelligence and Security Agency (JISA) in Kismayo.
According to an official statement, the modern facility was fully funded through local revenues collected from taxes paid by residents of Jubaland.
The inauguration ceremony, held on Monday, and attended by the Minister of Internal Security, Yusuf Hussein Osman, the Director of JISA, Mohamed Ahmed Sabriye, and the Commander of the Jubaland Darawish Forces, General Ismail Sahardiid.
In a message posted on his official Facebook page, President Madobe hailed the project as part of Jubaland’s ongoing development initiatives, emphasizing that the construction costs were covered entirely by domestic tax revenue.
“I officially inaugurated the new headquarters of the Jubaland Intelligence and Security Agency (JISA), a modern facility built and funded through the taxes paid by the people of Jubaland,” President Madobe stated.
He also commended JISA personnel for their dedication to maintaining security and stability across Jubaland, describing the agency as one of the most effective security institutions in the Horn of Africa.
The Jubaland Intelligence and Security Agency (JISA) was established in 2013, during the formation of the Jubaland State Government following the political agreement that recognized Kismayo as the interim capital of the regional administration.
