Somalia, April 5, 2026 – The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC) has appointed Abdirahman Abubakar Mohamed as the new head of the South West Electoral Office, effective Saturday, following his predecessors suspension.
This decision comes ahead of South West elections scheduled for later this month as previously announcement by the National Electoral Commission of Somalia. Mohamed is tasked with overseeing the electoral process, ensuring compliance with national regulations.
