Mogadishu, (Dawan) — Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Jibril Haji Abdirashid denied allegations on social media that he illegally obtained a Kenyan passport, describing the claims as false and baseless In a press statement, Abdirashid said he had never engaged in any activity that could undermine the security, sovereignty, stability, or territorial integrity of Kenya or Somalia.
“I am aware of the allegations circulating on social media regarding my recent travel to the Republic of Kenya. I fully deny these allegations. They are false, baseless, and unsupported by fact,” he said.
Abdirashid said he had carried out his public duties in accordance with the law, regional peace, and good neighbourly relations. He added that Kenya remains one of Somalia’s closest and most valued partners.

The Deputy Prime Minister also praised Kenya’s role in supporting Somalia, particularly in hosting Somali refugees, contributing to regional peace and security, supporting humanitarian efforts, promoting economic cooperation, and assisting state-building efforts.
Jibril Haji Abdirashid called on the public and the media to refrain from spreading unverified claims, while reaffirming his commitment to peace, constitutional governance, regional cooperation, and constructive engagement with the Republic of Kenya.
