Somalia, 25 June 2026 – Somalia’s Auditor General Ahmed Guutaale met representatives of Mogadishu Al-Port Corporation Albayrak-Somalia to discuss financial compliance, his office said.
The meeting focused on strengthening transparency, accountability and compliance with financial obligations under the port management agreement, according to the Office of the Auditor General on Wednesday.
Gutale stressed the importance of submitting audited financial reports on time, saying this would help strengthen monitoring and verification of government revenues.
Mogadishu port is one of Somalia’s most important revenue-generating assets. Albayrak has operated the port since 2013, and the federal government signed a renegotiated 14-year concession agreement with the company in 2020.
